You Are My Son, My Saviour!

You are my Son, my Saviour. In my arms prophesy has placed You. Today I shelter You. I love You. I cradle You. I nurse You.
Your tiny fingers and toes will be given to atone for the sins of all generations.
My head accepts that You must one day die. But my heart cannot conceive that I must give You up. You are my Son, my Jesus, beside my heart you rest.
My baby boy, I am your mother in this hour, to wipe your tears, but I cannot carry Your Cross. I gave birth to You. God gave You unto my care, I must not cling to You so, as my Son. My Son, when You cry I keep the wind from Your Face.
My Son, You are swaddled, kings kneel before You. You are The Promised One. The Annointed One. The One Who Sits Between The Cherubim. Your heartbeat is gentle, The Breath of a Child, The Sneeze of an Infant, Laid in fresh straw, the animals quietly adore You, as You created them. You sleep, as shepherds draw nigh bowing to The Messiah. You walked with Adam and Eve in the shade of Eden, You commanded them not to eat of the Fruit, until a serpent beguiled them. You are Ageless, yet newborn, You are Mighty, yet a fragile bundle in a mother’s embrace, I toss and turn in expectation of a grief years to come, I awake to Your makeshift cradle, to jealous stars, and the prophecy. You are my Son, my Saviour, a Love Offering, a Lamb to be slaughtered, an infant to be kissed, You are my Son, Joseph cut the umbilical cord, and placed You into my wearied but excited arms, my Firstborn, You are The Firstborn from the dead, The Alpha and The Omega, my King and my Lord, I am only a vessel, Your mother in this life, You are water I cannot hold You, Rivers of Living Waters, to be poured out. You are my Son, in this hour, but The Prophecy I accepted with Joy, The Blood You must shed, now is a two-edged Sword that pierces the pride of a mother whose given birth to The Messiah named Jesus.

“My soul doth magnify The Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God, my Saviour.” (Luke 1:46-47)
