Submission

Jesus Christ submitted to The Will of The Father
In submission He served us to The Glory of The Father
He came, born to a maiden,
Leaving The angelic host
The Glory and Splendor of His Throne
He submitted to become a carpenter
and worked with His Hands
Our Messiah wore sandals,
and with feet no longer burnished,
with flesh, subject to burns and scabs
He offered His Body to be broken
by a people that knew Him not
His flesh was torn from Him
from the back of The Mighty One
In Love He was submissive to The Will of The Father
Before the world was formed He submitted
To carry a wooden Cross of splinters
In Humility He laid His Body to be nailed
and took a criminal’s death,
He took the curse of the world
upon His Body
and offered His Blood
to atone for the evils of men
who wagged viciously their tongues
despised Him thrust a mock crown of thorns
romans twisted on His Heavenly Brow
Our Lord stood to be disrobed,
sought not His Rights as The Messiah
As The Son of God and Glory
let feeble men humiliate
He bore it all in submission
Separated from His Father
His Heart melted like wax within Him,
He submitted bowed His Head down
committed His Spirit
In submission His Heart knew no other way to be
The Humility of God is an enigma to us who know not
the way of submission
even in our small trials as human and frail
into a broken soul we were delivered into this world
seething with a rage against God
we demand our rights from Him
expect to be Justified in His Sight believing our flesh
to be worthy of Salvation
when it cannot be
in arrogance and self importance we tell God
with a fist in the air,
my works are enough
no one is better than I,
so open up Heaven because of my religion
our religious values have no submission
a putrid pile of filthy rags
we wear our priestly garments
we say our daily prayers
but not In submissin to The Father
as The Son of God,
we do not merit anything but His Wrath
