my Journey is with Christ
Oh my Lord, take me out of this place,
Save me from myself
from the clawing of myself
of the regrets that scratch at my heart
in the night

unfulfilled desires that consume me
my Journey is with You
and not with any other person
my fate is in Your Hands
I feel You always,
even when flames of prayerless nights
scorch
You are The Journey
not these years that have left me
as a desert
not these years that wasted this child’s heart
Say You are The Journey
as I trickle through days as water
as I gallop through years
in wanderings
Whisper that You Love me Lord
Whisper that i am Yours
and not my own
that Your Blood is The Entrance
Leave me not to my own thoughts
I slip through my fingers as sand
You are Permanent
You Are The Rock
on which i lay myself against
You Are The Ballad in my head
The Ballad that sings itself over and over
You are The Footsteps
as i walk through this valley of the shadow of death
there is a sadness that my joy is but a moment
there is a sadness that pierces
that my parents are but shadows
the grief that stabs long into the night
with it’s blade of truth that we live briefly
as a leaf that glides downward and silently
then no more
Say Jesus, You are my Journey
that my eyes have not opened
tell me that the fading glimmer of the sun
is not all there is
Smile and Laugh into the streams where You Live
inside this frail road
of my skin
Jesus You are The True Journey
i am winter
in this place of despair
i am a second of winter
i am loneliness even with humanity
crowded around me
even with the deepest love
of loved ones
is flawed and hurtful
My Lord, at Your Feet
i am made whole
Your Suffering is my Journey
Your Footsteps i must follow
to escape this world
i pray
to escape my madness
i pray
to find my true self
i am real when prayer
joins me to You
You are my Journey Jesus,
without You
i am lost in a wilderness
that is the blizzard of living
the world has no center
completely hollow in a useless
senseless cacophony
You are so much bigger than
You are so much greater than
this tiny caterpillar
this leaf of life
empty me to breathe You in
empty me to fill me as you dip
into Your Soul
Dip me into the stars of Your Soul
this universe that is but apart of Your Body
You are so much more Journey
than the naked eye
Your Journey is to take me home
to the place where i am healed
where my joy takes form
where it takes flight
You are The Journey
through this day i live through
the seconds feel like years
but You live them with me
In my dreams You guide me home
You opened The Doors to show me the way
i miss You
no one is enough
my flesh is a poor substitute
You are The True Journey Lord
not possessions
or creating wealth
the road that leads home is narrow
in visions i see Your Outstretched Arms
to welcome
i am weary
and when i wake Your Staff comforts
leading the sheep home
The Journey is my Salvation
