Holy Spirit, you speak comforting words into the pores of my soul
Though you are humble, speak nothing of Yourself
You Speak of Jesus, and His Separation from The Father, God
How hard, How painful, How devastating the separation of Father and Son
To comfort these few days of being without my daughter Emma
You Narrate, as a Witness, The Son being made into sin
The Horror that He bore, that burrowed into His Flesh
that corrupted His Flesh, as He Hung on The Cross of Glory
You Left Him too, Returned to Heaven with The Father
The Lord Jesus, Gentle Jesus agonized, while He Paid
No Father, No Holy Spirit,
The Son stripped of His Flesh,
God made Him into The Sacrificial Lamb
You told me that Jesus was alone, He knows the hardship
that burdens my soul,
The tears and the sobbing.
But You said to stretch her faith and mine
I made the wrong decision Holy Spirit
but You tell me, It was what The Father purposed
You comfort me, with the Narration of my Lord Jesus
hanging on The Cross separated from The Father
You tell me, my separation can be endured
that The Lord feels my anguish
as His Skin was tearing on a wooden crucifixion stake
the wood inside His Blood already
It was part of the payment
splinters drowning inside
It was part of the debt humanity owed
That unmarked, unsoiled Blood could be the only offering
The Lamb, The Gentle Son Named Jesus
He opened not His Mouth
You told me, open not your mouth
in missing your daughter
“lest you sin matty, lest you sin”
i opened my mouth, and the sobbing of a soul
whose blood was hurting
whose wounds were spilling,
“No, Holy Spirit”, i opened my mouth
You said, “Go out to your mother.”
i didn’t want to
But i felt the tugging and the leading
of One so Gentle,
when we hurt we let everyone know
it is uncomfortable,
But Jesus closed His Mouth, spoke only useful words
not disdainful ones,
Holy Spirit You Speak only of Holiness
as if it is possible
You said, “Holiness is a Path with splinters,
and wounds that must be carried with dignity.”
“I Give You The Strength, The Dignity to Take Your Cross
don’t defend yourself, don’t defame yourself”
