Going Deeper with my Lord

Following Jesus,
He asks us to leave all.
Leave this culture. Leave all we’ve ever known.
Leave this space. Leave the false values and false morality of this age. Leave this world behind, do not look back, for no one with His Hand to the Plow looks back. Leave Egypt to walk with Our Lord, My Lord in the desert, in the wilderness, where God speaks to His saints in the crucible of rejection and loneliness.

As His Body, we strive only by The Holy Spirit to be made holy, unto the Image of Our Merciful Saviour Jesus Christ.

But when much of the world doesn’t want the Garment of Holiness. When they seek to do their own will, and each one does what is right in his or her own eyes.

I struggle with drawing the Line in the Sand Jesus has asked me to. Yet, Our Saviour has commanded us to Love, if we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit.

Love is one of the Precious Fruits of Holiness.

The world rejects Jesus Christ. Yet, we must still love them, yet, I will not lie to people about Him, just to be accepted. With my fallen flesh, in the Arms of My Saviour. As i die, to be Abide Only In Him.

Recently, conflicting emotions, tugs of the spirit and the flesh, sometimes discerning the difference is nearly impossible. When the enemy wraps up self-righteousness to look like holiness. Or disguises love, so your walk is muddied with compromise.

Lately God says, Trust Me in the deeper things." “Let us take a deeper walk out into deeper waters, take My Hand, walk with Me.” I hear the Voice of The Lord, ever so gently.

Of course, i want to do things for the One I love Jesus, My Lord. In my fervor, sometimes, as indelicately as a buffalo in a china shop, my actions are brusque, when my intention is only to love. my will maybe, not His Will. Though discerning His Will becomes harder when the world attempts to cleave to us, with the familiarity of my generation having grown up in the 1970’s. Ours was a generation of television reared by re-runs from 1960’s shows.

Shedding the past, leaving behind The Brady Bunch, Hogan’s Heroes, The Waltons, and Gilligan’s Island. Not because they are necessarily evil, but useless.
God wants more of me, and the childish things must go. To follow Jesus, we leave behind the things that consume us, are sinful, and useless to become ashes. Dwelling with The Lord is not just making a profession of faith, but living that profession out. The pursuit of Holiness through The Holy Spirit is the natural outcome of becoming His child, and disciple. Our Father is Holy, He says, “Be holy for I AM HOLY.” (1 Peter 1:16) A child resembles their parent. We as disciples seek to be like the One who saved us. To grow more in the Likeness of Jesus Christ.

Becoming more Intimate involves more Trust. More Trust, and more Love, and time spent in prayer. Putting away all of the childish things, involves risk, risk of reputation, and risk of rejection.

But God is Patient. As we have been asked to be patient. With my whole soul, i seek to do only God’s Will. But, still walking in this entangled flesh, like a spider web, sometimes, my soul entangled in the selfishness, and egocentricity of it.

ABBA, i want Your Will. To Do Your Will as my Lord was in submission to You when He walked on the earth. i must decrease, my Lord, You must increase.

Loving Jesus, as Lord, is dying and losing myself in Him. As disciples, we must all die to self, lose ourselves only In Him. Everyone who bears the Name of Christ, will suffer persecution, must suffer rejection, will fall, will stumble, but the walk is to abide ever closer, to Be In Him, to seek only His Face, His Heart, contrary to wanting our own hearts, which are unholy.

As The Body, as the Lord’s Body, we are to strive for the holiness to be found only In Jesus, Our Saviour. Oh, Brethren, He died to make us Holy, not only to save us from eternal hell, He created mankind to be in union with Him. We seek His Glory, and God will share His Eternal Love with us always.

I love all my brothers and sisters In-Christ. I love all of you who are not His, because you need Jesus Christ to come and abide with you.

Only God takes our hearts that are dead, a heart of stone, unmerciful and unloving. He gives us a heart of flesh, so we can believe the Gospel.

We who are the Body of Jesus Christ, are born again. Born from above. Only then, when God gives The Holy Spirit can you see The Kingdom of God. This is the Gift of Grace, which is the True Miracle.

May God seek what was lost, and find that one lost sheep looking for food and drink.
